Did you know that there is a group of 25 local women who knit and crochet beautiful alternatives to traditional breast prosthetics for breast cancer survivors? The knockers are delivered to 10 hospitals and clinics in the surrounding area and are distributed FREE to any women who request them. The story of Knitted Knockers is fascinating. Started by a breast cancer survivor in Washington state, within 10 years Knitted Knockers has become a world-wide movement of women helping women. Come hear how it all started, what your local group is doing, how to get involved or perhaps how to get some knockers for yourself or a loved one.
